Use a soft measuring tape to find the circumference of your pole.

Divide the circumference by 3.14 to determine the diameter.

If your diameter falls between two whole numbers, choose the larger diameter, as the smaller size will not fit.

For example, if your measured circumference is 16.5 inches, dividing by 3.14 yields a diameter of 5.25 inches, so a 6-inch diameter pole pad is needed.
